An atlatl is a somewhat antiquated ranged weapon that increases the force of a thrown javelin. The atlatl itself is a curved rod, about the length of your forearm, with a cuplike spur at one end. The spur holds a javelin, which a skilled atlatlist can propel forward at great speed.
