Scrolls of the Sorcerer

“The Sorcerer” was a legendary Mazrian philosopher who either died or disappeared ages ago. Mazrians know this figure by the inscrutable name Kothar the Kotharian. Some believe the Sorcerer was a deity, and Kananites familiar with the Scrolls often identify the Kotharian as a child of the high god El-Elyon. The Sorcerer’s true identity is a mystery, but they appear to have been a contemporary of the Clay King Amurah, since the Scrolls includes scattered references to the "kingdom of clay."
The Scrolls of the Sorcerer remains a secretive text, though its influence is felt throughout Mazrian society. The Scrolls form the theoretical basis of the magical technology that, in turn, forms the foundation of the Empire’s power. If you start the game with this lore, you have a physical copy of this text in the form of a papyrus scroll.
If you’re a Sorcerer: this lore reflects a deeper theoretical understanding of the principles of Dark and Light Magic. Add your Intellect to your roll when you Focus. You start with the following ability:
How long will I need to solve this mathematical problem?
What is the weakest point of the structure?
What magic spells do Sorcerers know?
Those who invest their livelihood to the study of the Scrolls become Sorcerers, wielding physical forces as a warrior wields a spear. But even a less advanced understanding of the Scrolls offers much useful knowledge.
The Scrolls divides high magic into two disciplines: Dark Magic (gravity), and Light Magic (electromagnetism). A third category, Gray Magic, is an outgrowth of Light Magic and deals with magnetism specifically. These disciplines of high magic are explained in detail in the Sorcerer calling.
There is a third discipline of magic—known as Small Magic—that is only hinted at in the Scrolls. Acquiring lore about this secretive tradition can unlock the most powerful Sorcery spells.
