Code of Justice

Code of Honor    Code of Order

Requires: Justice ideal, No Fellowship Without Justice, No Order Without Justice, or No Power Without Justice

If you choose this Code as a starting hero, you know Code of Justice and its spells. Otherwise, you can learn Code of Justice with XP—so long as you have the Justice ideal, or one of the abilities listed above (from the Fellowship, Order, or Power codes) that unlocks it.

Code of Justice

Will  This ability grants two spells: 𐎺Eye for an Eye and 𐎺Sanction.

𐎺Eye for an Eye   |   SOULSIGHT  2+

When a foe under your soulsight inflicts lethal damage on you, you can expend soulsight to magically inflict lethal damage on them. Expend 2 points of soulsight for each point of lethal damage you inflict. You can't inflict more lethal damage than you took from the attack, nor can you inflict more damage than your Will.

𐎺Sanction   |   SOULSIGHT  4

Roll Compel and condemn a character by speaking to the injustice that you believe they embody. If the character has the Justice ideal, take a -2 penalty on this roll. Success: The Guide assigns you a sanction die based on the strength of your condemnation. Write down the size of this die, along with the sanctioned character’s name. As long as this character lives—or until they repent of their injustice—you can roll this die for advantage on all your actions against them.Struggle: The character can take -1 spirit to rebuff your magic. Failure:  No effect.

Abilities to Learn

.5xp new ability  |  10xp with attribute increase

You must know Code of Justice before learning the abilities in this section.

Heart of Justice

✦✧ Will  Gain +1 max Life and +1 max Awareness.

The Strong Shall Not Oppress the Weak

✦✦✧ Will  Requires Justice ideal. When you take direct action to protect weak or helpless characters from the predations of stronger ones, invoke Justice by taking -1 awareness instead of -1 spirit.

Greater Sanction

✦✦✦✧ Will  Take -1 spirit to grant your sanction die to your allies for their actions against a character you’ve sanctioned for one round.

No Justice Without Power

Intellect  Your experience has led you to conclude that true Justice must work in tandem with Power to enforce its moral code upon the world.  When you learn this ability, you also learn the Code of Power ability and its spells. You can subsequently learn other abilities from the Code of Power. (You don't gain the Power ideal, however.)

Redemption

Will  Even those who seek justice may stray from the path. If your hero’s soul has been lost, you may learn this ability to redeem it. You will need to sacrifice something meaningful to achieve redemption, determined by the Guide.
