If you choose this Code as a starting hero, you know ✪ Code of Glory and its spells. Otherwise, you can learn ✪ Code of Glory with XP—so long as you have the Glory ideal.
𐎺Dazzling Mien | SOULSIGHT 1
Roll Compel to amplify your soul’s presence to dazzle and distract the character.✦ Success: The character suffers -1 awareness and -1 guard. While you maintain soulsight, the character must either direct their actions toward you or retreat from your presence.⬖ Struggle: The character suffers -1 awareness.ⓧ Failure: No effect.𐎺Echoes of Eternity | SOULSIGHT 4
Roll Compel to magically convince a character to brazenly defy danger in the name of glory. If the character has the Glory ideal, you automatically succeed. However, if they have the Order ideal, take a -2 penalty on your compel roll.✦ Success: The character becomes dismissive of all risk and acts in a manner they think will bring them the most renown. For example, a frightened townsperson might find the courage to take up makeshift arms to guard a threshold against invaders. In battle, a foe might exclusively take risky actions like outflank and jump attacks.⬖ Struggle: The character(s) can take -1 spirit to rebuff your magic.ⓧ Failure: No effect. This spell’s effect lasts at least until you leave the character’s sight or have no soulsight remaining. If you convince a character to follow their path to glory elsewhere, beyond your sight, the effect lasts until something external jogs the character’s memory and reminds them of their vulnerability. The character’s ideals, which you know from Soulgaze, should signal to some extent what they think will bring them “renown.” Characters with Fellowship may wish to bring glory to their group of friends and loved ones. Characters with Power may simply want to dominate those who oppose them. The Guide has final say on how an affected character follows their desires. You must know ✪ Code of Glory before learning the abilities in this section.
