The Sling

Not anyone can pick up a sling and throw stones with it. Whirling the weapon around requires much training to avoid injury to yourself, not to mention your allies standing close to you. A sling is useless in the hands of someone who doesn’t know this lore.

You start with the following ability:

Headshot

Agility  Take -1 awareness and take a -1 penalty to your sling attack. If this attack hits, add +2 to your result, and the attack inflicts -2 guard and -1 awareness (or -3 guard if the foe has no Awareness).

Bola

✦✧ Agility  You modify your sling to work as a bola, a thrown weapon designed to entangle and disable a foe. The foe you target with this ability must be human-sized or smaller. Entanglement. When you throw the bola, it inflicts no lethal damage. Instead, if the attack hits or is blocked by a mundane armament, the foe suffers -1 guard and is entangled: they can’t block any attacks until they escape their entanglement. The foe can try to escape on their turn with a 2 | 4 maneuver or brace challenge action—or one of their allies can take this action to free them.  Creating a bola requires converting your sling. You can create a new bola during Downtime. If you know the Crafting lore, you can create a new bola as a rest activity, so long as you have access to rocks and rope.
